Supporting the Next Generation of Interventional Radiologists

The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) has established a range of initiatives aimed at advancing interventional radiology training and supporting the next generation of IR specialists.

Through dedicated programs for undergraduate medical students, residents, trainees and junior interventional radiologists, CIRSE is helping to raise awareness of the specialty and provide structured opportunities for learning and professional development.

Two new promotional videos have recently been released highlighting these initiatives:

  • CIRSE Student Programme – Be inspIRed (for medical students)

European Trainee Forum (ETF) and IR Trainee Support Programme (for residents and trainees)

These programs provide prospective IRs with opportunities to learn about the field through curated lectures, hands-on device and simulation training sessions, and networking and social events held during CIRSE Annual Congresses and other international meetings.

IRSA encourages members to share these resources with medical students, radiology residents and IR trainees who may be interested in pursuing a career in interventional radiology.
