NEW IRSA CLINICAL GUIDELINE PUBLISHED Prostate Artery Embolisation (PAE)
IRSA is pleased to announce the publication of its Clinical Guideline on Prostate Artery Embolisation (PAE) in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO).
This important guideline provides evidence-based recommendations to support the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of PAE for men with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Developed by a panel of expert interventional radiologists using the internationally recognised AGREE-II framework, the guideline draws on randomised controlled trials, meta-analyses and expert consensus to establish recommendations graded according to the strength of available evidence.
Key highlights:
- Establishes evidence-based recommendations for PAE treatment.
- Supports consistent standards of care and clinical decision-making.
- Provides guidance for interventional radiologists, urologists, general practitioners and other referring clinicians.
- Helps inform treatment discussions for men experiencing symptomatic BPH.
This publication represents an important contribution to advancing evidence-based interventional radiology practice and supporting quality patient care across Australasia.
Congratulations and thank you to the expert contributors involved in developing this guideline.
