The Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) sends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Thierry De Baère, who passed away on December 16th 2025.
Thierry was a giant of IR and through his research, mentoring, and education of IR’s changed how we all practice our specialty, improving the care and outcomes for patients world wide. Thierry was an invited speaker at many IRSA ASM’s and went to every effort to ensure we benefitted from his wisdom, going above and beyond to present live from France despite the hour.
We will remember him as a fantastic friend of IRSA and he will be greatly missed.
